Private Sessions
Anyone can try yoga once, but it takes commitment to build a lifelong practice. My goal is to help you build that practice.
Maybe you used to be a dedicated yogi, but it’s been a while. Maybe you have an injury or condition that prevents you from attending drop-in classes. Maybe you’re already a committed student and simply want to deepen your practice. Whatever your motivation, I am delighted to work with you!
Because commitment is essential to change, and change takes time, I offer all Private Sessions in 4-session series. For these 4 sessions, we will meet weekly or every other week, and allow our work together to take whatever form feels most appropriate: Perhaps our work is movement-focused as we find ways to adapt or modify common yoga poses to suit your body; or perhaps you'd like to develop your mindfulness or meditation practices. Whatever the content, this format allows us time for the student-teacher relationship to develop, and for you to witness the effects of what you learn and implement.

While I love and welcome working with students of all kinds, my areas of expertise include:
-
Scoliosis & spinal fusion
-
Grief & loss (esp. loss of a parent)
-
Eating disorders
-
Trauma-informed care

"When I began taking private lessons from Abby over five years ago, I intended the lessons to last a short time and lead to me feeling more comfortable practicing in a group class. Instead, these private lessons have continued, and have become an indispensable component of self-care. Not only is Abby an amazing instructor, she is a wonderful person, and I always feel better physically and emotionally when I leave our sessions."
