Yoga Foundations
Mondays: Sept 9 - 30
Join Abby for a 4-week series exploring the foundations of yoga and mindful, joyful movement! Throughout the four weeks, we’ll explore some common yoga shapes, principles of alignment, and breathing techniques. Great for beginners, or anyone who wants to revisit the foundations of this rich practice! (And yes, you can drop in to one or two classes - no need to sign up for the whole series if you can't!)
Community Kirtan
Fri, Oct 4
A heart-forward evening of connection through sound! Abby will bring her harmonium and lead the group in vocal warmups and traditional yogic chants. If you have an instrument you’d like to bring (drums, shakers, guitar, grand piano…) feel free to bring it and play along! The emphasis for the evening is on joyful expression, not perfection.
Yoga for Everyday Life: The Yamas
Wednesdays: April 9 - May 7, 2025
Together, the 5 yamas comprise the first limb of the ashtanga (8-limbed) system of yoga, and offer us 5 basic principles to live by: non-harming, truthfulness, non-stealing, wise use of energy, and non-hoarding. In this series, we will examine each principle as it relates to our daily lives, and explore simple practices and exercises that you can take with you, on and off the mat.
"Abby is an incredibly kind and patient yoga teacher. We worked together in her 8-week mentorship program, after which I felt much more confident in my own abilities as a yoga teacher. Abby's knowledge of yogic texts, asanas and their Sanskrit significance, and cueing is next level. I would often come to session with many questions, and she would always take the time to provide relatable examples to work through the process."
